Howling Wolf Standing With Head Tilted Back

Howling Wolf Standing With Head Tilted Back coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A single wolf stands in side view with its head tipped sharply upward and its mouth open mid-howl. Its eyes look closed, and one ear is laid back against the head. The fur is drawn with short, loose pencil-style strokes along the neck, chest, belly and legs. The bushy tail hangs down behind the body and ends in a thick tuft. All four paws rest on the ground, with the claws visible. A few simple lines at the bottom suggest uneven ground, with some small bumps and pebbles. The large open areas of the body are easy to color, and the fur lines leave room for shading. Try a gray, brown and cream mix, using the strokes as a guide for darker and lighter patches. This free page also works well for a short talk about why wolves howl and how they use sound to talk to each other over long distances.
