Indoor Basketball Pass Between Boy and Girl
Coloring guide
Side by side, a smiling boy and girl run down a court while a ball floats between them, just tossed by the boy toward the girl. They both wear sleeveless V-neck jerseys, striped shorts, crew socks and sneakers. The boy has short spiky hair, and the girl has a high ponytail and reaches out with open hands to catch the pass. Three pennant banners hang from the ceiling behind them, along with a paneled wall, and curved court lines run across the floor. Small motion lines trail the ball, so the page has a nice feeling of movement. Two bright team colors work well for the jerseys, red for him and blue for her, with an orange ball and dark seams. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: color the gym wall panels sky blue and the large circle on the floor royal blue, leaving the white court lines uncolored.
- 2Fill the wooden floor areas and the wall base with golden yellow and warm tan, keeping the white floor lines and the bottom outline white.
- 3Color the banners: royal blue on the left one, bright red in the middle, and add bright yellow trim along the top and strap edges; leave the right banner white.
- 4Color the boy's jersey and shorts royal blue, and his hair chocolate brown. Give the girl a bright red jersey and shorts, with her ponytail and hair in chocolate brown.
- 5Use peach skin for the faces, arms, hands and legs, make the basketball orange, and keep the socks, shoe laces and eye whites white. Optional: add light shading on the shorts and jerseys with a slightly darker shade of the same color.
