Kids Hanging Lanterns on the Door, Chinese New Year

Coloring guide
A smiling girl with a ponytail stands on a small step ladder, reaching up to hang a round paper lantern with a long tassel on the front door. Next to her, a happy boy in a hoodie holds a second lantern, ready for his turn. The paneled door has a border of blossom flowers around it and a flower garland across the top, and a potted bush sits in each bottom corner. Lantern stripes, flowers and sweater details all give kids lots to color. Red and gold would be great for the lanterns and tassels, and soft pink makes the blossoms stand out against the door. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big door and wall areas: fill the tall door panels and the door frame with sky blue, leaving the cream border and wall strips for later.
- 2Color the two lanterns with bright red, including their tassels and hanging hooks, then add the flower garland in golden yellow on the blossoms at the top and sides.
- 3Fill the girl's sweater with rose pink, her jeans and the boy's pants with denim blue, and the boy's hoodie with leaf green.
- 4Color the hair in chestnut brown, the faces and hands in peach skin, the wooden ladder in caramel brown and burnt orange, and the flower pots in burnt orange.
- 5Optional: Finish with the bright blue sneakers, the warm gray ladder foot, and the light gray floor shadow, leaving the cream background as it is.
