Making Snow Angels Under Falling Snowflakes

Two smiling kids lie on their backs in the snow, arms and legs stretched wide to make snow angels. The boy at the top has on a pom-pom knit hat, a puffy zip-up jacket, a long scarf, mittens and boots. The girl below wears a matching pom-pom hat, a buttoned coat, a scarf, mittens and fur-trimmed boots, with her long hair spilling out from under the hat. Wavy outlines around both children mark the angel shapes pressed into the snow. Snowflakes and round snow dots fill the sky, a snow-covered pine tree stands at the upper right, and small grass tufts poke out of snowy mounds. There's plenty of room on this free printable for crayons or markers. Each child could get a different bright scarf and hat set to stand out against a soft pale-blue snowy background. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big pine tree with forest green, then color its snowy top and the snow patches on the ground with pale ice blue, leaving the open snow area white.
- 2Color the boy's jacket and hat in sky blue, his pants in navy blue, and his scarf and pom-pom in red.
- 3Color the girl's coat, hat and boots in hot pink, her leggings in dark purple, and her mittens and scarf in violet purple.
- 4Color the boy's boots in medium brown and the girl's boot cuffs and the boy's sock cuffs in peach skin, then fill the girl's ponytail in golden yellow and the boy's hair in dark brown.
- 5Color both faces in peach skin, leave the eye whites and smile highlights white, and color the boot soles in charcoal gray.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the folds of the jackets and under the tree branches to give the scene more depth.
