Up on a shingled rooftop sits a fluffy kitten with big sparkling eyes, head tilted toward the night sky. A tall brick chimney stands beside it and a few small rounded bushes peek up behind. In the top corner hangs a large crescent moon, with stars of different sizes around it: some classic five-pointers and some tiny four-point twinkles. The kitten has wispy tufts on its cheeks and chest, long whiskers, and a curled tail resting along the roof edge. Bold, clean outlines work nicely with crayons and markers, and the big shapes are good for younger kids. Warm orange or gray fits the kitten, deep blue or purple the sky, and soft yellow the moon and stars. It's free to print, so keep a few spare copies around. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the kitten's whole body, head, ears and tail with tangerine orange, leaving the small paws and the leg highlight white.
- 2Fill the inside of both ears with soft pink, and add a little pink to the cat's nose area if you like.
- 3Color the chimney bricks and the roof tiles with terracotta red, then fill the chimney cap with slate gray.
- 4Color the roof edge and the side of the roof with chocolate brown and light caramel for the wooden trim.
- 5Color the two bushes with leaf green, then color all the stars golden yellow and leave the moon and background white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker orange strokes along the cat's back and tail to make the fur look more textured.
