Koala Mid-Climb Looking Over Its Shoulder

Coloring guide
Big fluffy ears and a round nose belong to this cheerful koala, which clings to a tall trunk and glances back over its shoulder with a happy open-mouth smile. One front paw grips the trunk near its chest, the other reaches higher, and a back foot pushes against the bark as if it's partway up. The trunk runs down the right side of the page with lots of wavy bark lines to color. Leafy branches sit in the top left, the bottom left and along the right edge, giving you pointed eucalyptus-style leaves to fill in. The fur has soft, scribbly edges and the ears have fuzzy inner details, which work well with crayons and colored pencils. Try soft gray for the koala, a lighter shade inside the ears, warm browns for the bark and fresh greens for the leaves. Download it as a free PDF, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the koala's whole body, head, arms, and legs in light gray, leaving the claws for later.
- 2Fill the big tree trunk and its branches with warm brown, keeping the bark lines visible.
- 3Color the inner parts of both ears and the cream patch on the belly in cream white.
- 4Paint all the eucalyptus leaves on the branches in leaf green, moving from the top leaves down to the bottom ones.
- 5Fill the koala's large nose in black, then color the claws on its hands and feet in black too.
- 6Optional: Add slightly darker gray shading along the koala's belly and under the ears to make it look fluffy.
