Little Penguin Waving in a Pom-Pom Hat and Scarf

Coloring guide
A smiling baby penguin stands on a few small snow mounds and waves hello with one flipper. It's wearing a knit beanie with a ribbed brim and a big pom-pom, and a long striped scarf with fringed ends hangs down its front. You'll notice the big round eyes with sparkly highlights, the small open beak and the round belly with its clean curved outline. Little webbed feet peek out at the bottom. Bold lines and large shapes make this free printable easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or chunky markers. Red and white stripes on the hat and scarf with light blue snow would make the outfit pop. Good for a rainy day at home or a classroom table. This fits right in with our Winter coloring pages — see also Mother's Day and Teacher Appreciation Day.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big penguin body, wings and flippers in charcoal gray, leaving the round belly white.
- 2Color the hat's ribbed band and top in sky blue, and fill the pom-pom on top in cherry red.
- 3Fill the thick wrap around the neck and the striped scarf in cherry red, keeping the white stripes between the red ones white.
- 4Color the beak and both feet in golden orange, and add a soft pink tongue inside the open mouth.
- 5Finish by leaving the eye whites and the face white, then add any light shading on the belly or hat as an optional tip.
