The star of this page is a karate-style uniform with a wrap-front jacket, wide sleeves, loose pants and a knotted belt at the waist. Small burst marks on either side make it look like it's sparkling. Underneath is a row of five belts, each with a slightly different stripe pattern on its ends, so kids can invent their own rank order. The bottom row has a pair of fingerless training gloves, one more knotted belt, and a trophy cup with a star on the front and a stand below. Bold lines and big shapes work for young colorers, and older kids will like the small details. Try white for the uniform, a different color for each belt, and shiny gold for the trophy. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the inside of the collar at the top of the uniform royal blue.
- 2Fill the waist sash and its knot bright red, then color the two gloves and the star on the trophy bright red too.
- 3Color the trophy cup lemon yellow, its rim golden yellow, and its base chocolate brown, leaving the handles white.
- 4Color the five small belts: lemon yellow, orange, emerald green, royal blue and purple, including their knots and tails, and leave the white stripes on the tails white.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker shade of each color along one side of the belts, cup and gloves to give them some depth.
