Seahorse Hug From a Smiling Mermaid on a Rock
Coloring guide
The heart of this page is a hug. A smiling little mermaid with long, wavy hair holds a friendly seahorse close. She has a star-shaped flower clip in her hair and a seashell top, and her scaly tail curls down over a large rock, with a finned tail at the bottom. The seahorse has a curly tail, a ridged back and big round eyes. Floating bubbles surround the pair, tall wavy seaweed stands on both sides, small pebbles dot the ground, and a dotted starfish sits in the lower corner. Big shapes and clear outlines make it a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. You could color the tail scales in teal and purple so they pop against a bright orange or yellow seahorse. It's a free printable PDF, handy for a quiet creative moment. If you enjoyed this Mermaid page, don't miss our Ghost and Witch coloring pages.

- 3Color the mermaid's whole tail with teal green scales and mint green fins, leaving the small shine spot on the tail white.
- 4Paint the rock and pebbles light gray, the seaweed leaf green, the bubbles sky blue and the starfish tangerine orange.
- 5Add lavender purple to the clam shell top, bright pink to the hair flower and rose pink to the shell center.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade under the hair and along the tail edges to make the drawing pop.
