Mama Duck and Five Ducklings Waddling Through the Meadow

Mother duck is out for a waddle across a grassy meadow, smiling big, with five ducklings trailing behind her in a wavy line. Each one is a little smaller than the one before. She has an open beak, a round sparkling eye, a tuft of feathers on her head and a curved wing. The ducklings have round heads, tiny beaks and webbed feet, and a few are looking happily ahead. You'll spot tufts of grass and three daisy-style flowers with leaves, at the top, bottom left and bottom right. Large shapes and clean lines suit preschoolers with chunky crayons. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the mama duck body and all five ducklings' bodies with lemon yellow, leaving the small white highlights on their feathers untouched.
- 2Color the mama duck's beak, all the feet, and the front duckling's beak in orange.
- 3Add rose pink to the open mouths of the mama duck and the front duckling.
- 4Color the grass leaves at the bottom-left and bottom-right flowers in grass green, and the small grass blades in pale lime green.
- 5Leave the flower petals, eye whites, and background white, then finish by adding black details on the eyes if you like.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker yellow along the lower edges of the bodies for a soft shadow.
