Mama Flamingo With Her Fluffy Chick by the Cattails

Here a tall flamingo lowers her long, curved neck to check on a small fluffy chick standing by her legs. She has big layered wing feathers, a bent beak, a round eye with lashes and a little tuft of feathers on her head. The chick has a fuzzy, rounded body, thin legs, webbed feet and a tiny beak, and it looks up at her with wide eyes. Both stand in shallow water with ripples around their feet and a small muddy bank nearby, and cattails with tall leaves frame each side of the page. Those large wing feathers are good shading practice, while the fuzzy chick is an easy spot for little ones to scribble texture.
