Mama Giraffe Nuzzling Her Calf Under the Sun
Coloring guide
A tall mother giraffe dips her head down to nuzzle her little calf, and both of them have sweet smiles. The baby looks up with big round eyes and leans its head against her cheek. Each giraffe has small horn-like ossicones, rounded ears, big spots with bumpy edges and a tufted tail. In the upper right corner there's a simple round sun with short rays, and little grass tufts sit in the bottom corners. Thick, clean outlines and roomy spots keep it easy for little hands, and it could be a nice Mother's Day activity too. Free to print. Golden yellow bodies with rich brown spots look good, finished off with a bright orange sun and green grass. More like this: explore the Giraffe, Crab and Wolves coloring page collections.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- soft yellow
- caramel brown
- chocolate brown
- burnt orange
- amber
- coral pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big body areas of both giraffes with soft yellow, leaving the white highlight spots on the necks and legs untouched.
- 2Fill the sun and the grass tufts with soft yellow, and color the calf's neck and head patches with amber.
- 3Color the adult giraffe's large spots and the tail with caramel brown, then the smaller spots on the calf with caramel brown too.
- 4Add burnt orange to the mid-sized spots on both giraffes and the calf's leg patches.
- 5Color the hooves and horn tips with chocolate brown, and the inner ears with coral pink.
- 6Optional: Leave the eye shines and the small white highlights on the legs white, and add a little extra caramel brown shading along the edges of the spots for depth.
