- 1Fill the mother hen's large body and tail with warm brown, leaving the white wing outlines and the small white leg highlight untouched.
- 2Color the hen's neck and head feathers in rust brown, then add the comb and wattle in bright red.
- 3Fill all five chicks with lemon yellow, keeping the small white cheek shines, belly highlights and gaps between legs white.
- 4Paint the hen's beak and the flower centers in golden yellow, and color the hen's legs and feet in orange.
- 5Color the grass tufts and the two flower leaves in leaf green, and leave the flower petals and stems white.
