Picnic Blanket Spread With Watermelon Wedges and Lemonade
Coloring guide
A round plate in the middle of this picnic scene holds three juicy watermelon wedges, each with little seeds and a thick rind. Next to it stands a glass pitcher of lemonade packed with round citrus slices and square ice cubes. On the checkered blanket you'll also spot a woven picnic basket with a tall handle. Grass spreads out behind the blanket, a big tree trunk with leafy branches reaches across the top, and rounded bushes line the back. All the checks and basket weaving mean plenty of small spaces to fill, which is good for steady crayon or colored pencil work. Red and pink suit the melon flesh, green the rinds, and bright yellow the lemon slices. It's a free page for kids and grown-up coloring fans alike. Love this Watermelon coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green areas: color the grass, the bushes and the tree leaves in grass green, and use soft green for the middle bush.
- 2Fill the tree trunk with tree brown, then color the basket and its lid in golden tan with caramel brown for the weave lines.
- 3Paint the checkered picnic blanket by coloring the red squares coral red and leaving the white squares white.
- 4Color the lemonade in lemon yellow, with the top surface in bright yellow, and leave the lemon slices and ice cubes white.
- 5Add the watermelon slices in coral red, with the rinds in leafy green and the thin strip under the slice in pale lime, and keep the seeds and plate white.
- 6Optional: finish the pitcher glass and handle in sky blue for a cool shine, and leave the small highlights white.
