Waving Watermelon Buddy in Boots Among the Flowers
Coloring guide
This round watermelon has a big open smile, sparkly eyes and little curved eyebrows. It stands on two chunky boots, waving one hand high while the other arm hangs at its side. Wavy stripes run from the curly stem on top all the way down the body, so there is lots of room to color. Down at its feet you'll see three simple five-petal flowers and a few tufts of grass. The thick, clean outlines make this free printable easy to stay inside of for preschoolers and early elementary kids. You could alternate light and dark green on the stripes and use bright red or pink on the flowers so the waving watermelon pops. It also fits nicely into a summer fruit lesson or a rainy afternoon. - 1Color the two wide side bands of the watermelon, the stem, the curly tip, the waving hand and the left hand with lime green.
- 2Fill the center of the watermelon and the dark stripe along the far left with forest green, leaving the flower petals and leaves white.
- 3Color both boots coral red, and keep the boot soles white for a little contrast.
- 4Fill the upper part of the open smile with coral red and the tongue with soft pink.
- 5Color the eyes' pupils and the flower centers golden yellow, keeping the eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add light back-and-forth strokes of darker green over the forest green areas for a crayon-style texture.
