Picnic Bunny Under a Rope Swing, Filed With Bulbasaur

Coloring guide
On a checkered picnic blanket sits a smiling bunny with long, droopy ears, glancing sideways with big sparkly eyes. Next to it you'll see two apples, a plate with two sandwich halves, and a woven basket heaped with strawberries. A little ladybug crawls near the blanket's corner. The garden behind is full of large leaves, grass tufts and bushes, and a rope swing hangs from a thick tree branch overhead. One note: this page is filed under Bulbasaur, but the picture shows a bunny, not a Pokémon character. Wide blanket squares and big shapes are easy for small hands, and the strawberry seeds and basket weave offer finer detail for older kids. Red strawberries and apples look cheerful next to soft gray-brown fur. Print it at home for classroom time or a rainy day. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background greens: color the bushes, the grass tufts and the leaves in the tree using leaf green and grass green, leaving the tree trunk and sky white.
- 2Fill the bunny with light caramel, including its head, body, tail and paws, then color the inside of the long ears light pink.
- 3Color the blue pillow behind the bunny with sky blue, and the swing seat and branch with chestnut brown and caramel brown.
- 4Color the checkered tablecloth by alternating bright red, tomato red and salmon pink squares, leaving some squares white, then fill the apples with bright red and their leaves with leaf green.
- 5Color the basket with light caramel and the strawberries with bright red, then fill the sandwiches with pale cream and the ladybug body with bright red.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the bunny and basket for depth, and keep the eye shines, plate and white tablecloth squares untouched.
