A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big tree: color the trunk and branches tree brown, then fill the leaves and both bushes with grass green, adding a few leaf green accents on the leaves.
- 2Fill the faces, arms, and hands with skin peach, leaving the eye whites, the sandwich highlights, and the sky background white.
- 3Color the man's shirt and the jeans on the woman and both kids with royal blue, and the man's leg with tan.
- 4Give the woman a lavender purple top, the girl a hot pink top, and the boy a golden yellow top. Use dark brown for the man's hair and chocolate brown for the girl's hair.
- 5Color the picnic blanket with light pink and coral squares, leaving cream and light tan squares between them. Fill the basket with warm brown and the apples and fruit with red, orange, and pale yellow.
