Planting Flowers Together, Diversity & Inclusion Garden Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Three smiling kids are hard at work in a garden here. A girl with a long ponytail and overalls tips a watering can so drops fall over a young flower. In the middle, a curly-haired child in a headband kneels in the soil and pats the earth around the blooming plant. On the right, a child with short curly hair and a hoodie leans on a shovel pushed into the ground. A wheelbarrow in the front corner carries a row of potted seedlings, and more flowers are scattered across the dirt. A picket fence and leafy bushes fill in behind them. Yellow and pink petals, green leaves and warm brown soil would make the flowers stand out. Print this free page for classroom time or a rainy day. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- lime green
- sky blue
- honey orange
- red
- light tan
- dark brown
- khaki
- burnt orange
- medium brown
- golden yellow
- lavender purple
- leafy green
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big grass areas in lime green, and fill the bushes at the top left and left side in leafy green.
- 2Color the fence across the back in honey orange, leaving the gaps between the pickets as they are.
- 3Fill the girl's overalls and the boy's hoodie in sky blue, and the girl's shirt in golden yellow, the boy's pants in khaki, and the girl's pants in lavender purple.
- 4Color the watering can and wheelbarrow in red, with the wheel center also red, and the seedling pots in red and bright orange.
- 5Use medium brown for the hair on the girl and the boy's shovel dirt, and use dark brown for the curly hair and headband; add silver gray to the shovel blade.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade on the hair or the grass to make the picture look richer, and leave the flowers and the gaps in the seedlings white for a bright, clean look.
