A Police Officer Gives a Balloon to a Little Girl
Coloring guide
Leaning down, a smiling officer in a peaked cap and short-sleeved uniform hands a big round balloon to a little girl. She reaches up with both hands and a wide grin. The officer has a badge on his cap and shirt and a belt with a pouch, and the girl wears a simple dress, ankle socks, shoes and a ponytail. A park fills in behind them with a leafy tree, a wooden bench, a few bushes and small tufts of grass. The shiny highlight on the balloon leaves a blank spot to color around. Big shapes and clean lines make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A red or sunny yellow balloon will stand out against the green tree and grass, and navy blue works well for the uniform. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- dark slate blue
- light peach
- warm brown
- bright red
- bubblegum pink
- sky blue
- charcoal gray
- royal blue
- golden yellow
- dark brown
- leaf green
- navy blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin areas: fill the officer's face, ears, neck and hands, and the girl's face, arms and hands with light peach.
- 2Color the balloon bright red, but leave the small curved shine near its top white so it still looks glossy.
- 3Fill the officer's shirt and sleeves with sky blue, then his trousers with dark slate blue. Add royal blue to the top of his police cap and navy blue to the band around it.
- 4Color the girl's dress and short sleeves bubblegum pink, and her shoes pink too. Keep her socks white.
- 5Use warm brown for the tree trunk, bench slats and her hair, and dark brown for her ponytail details. Color the grass tufts leaf green and leave the background white.
- 6Finish with charcoal gray on the officer's belt, pouch, and shoes, and golden yellow on his badges. Optional: add a little darker shading on one side of the trousers and dress for depth.
