Police Officer Buckling a Child's Bike Helmet
Coloring guide
Kneeling on one knee next to a small bicycle, a friendly police officer gently fastens the chin strap on a smiling child's bike helmet. The officer has a peaked cap with a badge, a shoulder patch, a chest badge, a shoulder radio and a utility belt. The child is in a short-sleeved shirt, shorts and sneakers. Two more helmeted kids stand behind, each with a bike, watching. It all takes place on a driveway, with a garage door, a house roof, a fence and leafy bushes behind. The page is a good starter for talking about bike safety and wearing a helmet before a ride. Outlines are clear and bold, which works for beginners and confident colorers alike. Dark blue for the uniform, red or yellow helmets and a different shade for each bicycle would look nice. If you enjoyed this Police Officer page, don't miss our Cupcake and Vegetable coloring pages.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bushes, trees and grass in leafy green, and the fence in wood tan, so the outdoor scene comes alive.
- 2Fill the house wall in cream beige and the roof in slate gray, then color the garage door area in pale gray while leaving its bright panels white.
- 3Color the police officer's uniform, sleeves and cap in navy blue, add the golden yellow badge on his cap and chest, and use chocolate brown for his hair.
- 4Color the girl's helmet and shirt in hot pink and her shorts in violet purple. Give the boy a bright blue helmet and a lime green shirt, and color the girl's bike rims and frame in light blue.
- 5Color the skin areas in skin peach, the bike tires and shoes in charcoal gray, and the road and sidewalk in pale gray, leaving the highlights on the helmets white.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color on the bushes, shirts and bike frame to make the picture look more three-dimensional.
