Park Event Chat Between a Police Officer and a Boy in a Wheelchair
Coloring guide
Crouching on the grass, a smiling police officer talks with a happy boy in a wheelchair, and both look delighted to be chatting. The officer has a peaked cap with a badge, a uniform shirt with chest pockets and a corded shoulder radio. The boy is in a short-sleeved t-shirt, pants and sneakers. Behind them are two tents with scalloped trim, a bush, a small bunting banner, three balloons in a cluster and a few things on a table, with flowers and grass tufts up front. It's a friendly scene for talking about community helpers, kindness and including everyone. Navy for the uniform and cap, bright reds, yellows and blues for the balloons, and a cheerful green for the grass would work well. Print the free PDF at home for an afternoon activity. This fits right in with our Police Officer coloring pages — see also Cupcake and Vegetable.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: color the grass, bushes and trees in grass green, and leave the tent gaps and balloon strings white.
- 2Color the officer's uniform in navy blue, including the shirt, pants, cap and sleeves, and leave the badges for later.
- 3Fill the boy's shirt with red and his jeans with steel blue, then color his hair brown.
- 4Use skin peach for the officer's face, hands and the boy's face and arms, and leave the eye whites and smiles white.
- 5Color the wheelchair frame and wheels in charcoal gray and light gray, then add the golden yellow badges and balloons.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the uniform folds and under the wheelchair to make the drawing pop.
