Popeye Drifting Down Under an Open Parachute

A cartoon sailor hangs beneath a large open parachute, gripping the cords with both fists raised near his head. He has a squinting eye, a wide grin, a small tuft of hair on top and the big rounded forearms Popeye is known for. He wears a dark buttoned shirt, light pants with a belt, and flat shoes, and his feet dangle below him. The canopy is split into curved panels, with a scalloped black band running around the lower edge and thin lines running down to the harness. The black areas are already filled in, so younger kids can focus on the large white panels. Try coloring each panel of the canopy a different color to practice patterns, then talk about how a parachute slows a fall. The printable page works well for a rainy afternoon or a short lesson on air and gravity.
