Puddle-Splashing Baby Chicken on a Rainy Day

Rain falls all around a cheerful round chick standing with both webbed feet in a rippling puddle. Its wings stretch out to the sides, its beak is open in a big smile, and it has large sparkly eyes and a little tuft of feathers on its head. Six teardrop raindrops float above and beside it, and a few small splashes hop up from the water on the left. In the bottom right corner a spotted mushroom sits beside some grass tufts, with another small grass patch at the lower left. The shapes are big and bold, so little ones can stay inside the lines pretty easily. Sunny yellow fits the fluffy chick, soft blue the raindrops and puddle, and red or orange the mushroom cap. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the chick's body, head, and both wings with golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the small wing highlight white.
- 2Fill the beak and both feet with tangerine orange, and color the open mouth coral pink.
- 3Paint the puddle, the raindrops, and the small splashes sky blue, leaving the spaces between the legs white.
- 4Color the grass leaf green, the mushroom cap bright red, and the mushroom stem pale yellow, then add brick red at the base of the stem.
- 5Leave the white spots on the mushroom cap white, then add any final details you like.
- 6Optional: Add light strokes of a darker shade of each color inside the chick and puddle to give them a little depth.
