Queen Bee Wearing a Crown With Two Bowing Bees

Coloring guide
The queen bee stands tall on a honeycomb platform with her hands on her hips and a small jeweled crown between her curly antennae. She has big sparkly eyes, long lashes, a fluffy fur collar and a striped body, and she's smiling. On each side, a smaller bee bows toward her with closed eyes, as if showing respect. A flower with big leaves grows behind them on both sides. The honeycomb hexagons give kids lots of shapes to fill in. There are large open areas for little hands and finer touches like wing veins for older kids, so the free page works for many ages. Try golden yellow for the queen's stripes and the honeycomb, and a bright purple or pink crown so she stands out from the two smaller bees. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the honeycomb platform and all its cells in lemon yellow, leaving the background white.
- 2Fill the queen bee's face, body, and the two smaller bees' faces and bodies in lemon yellow, then color the queen's stripes and the sides of the honeycomb edges in chocolate brown and marigold orange.
- 3Paint the queen's wings and the wings of the two small bees in sky blue, leaving the eye whites and background white.
- 4Color the fluffy chest of the queen and the chest of the small bees in cream white, and the flower petals in coral pink and the leaves in leaf green.
- 5Use chocolate brown for the queen's stripes and warm brown for the small bees' shaded lower bodies, and color the crown and the jewels in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the lower edges of the honeycomb and the bees' bellies to make them look more dimensional.
