A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky and clouds in pale sky blue, leaving the sun and its rays white.
- 2Color the mountains in mountain blue and the lake in lake blue, leaving the snowy peak on the left white.
- 3Fill the horse's body, legs, and head with chestnut brown, and use cream for the muzzle.
- 4Color the mane and tail golden yellow, and the wooden fence in warm tan.
- 5Fill the pine trees in forest green and teal, the bushes in bush green and mint green, and the grass and flowers in grass green.
- 6Finish the hooves in charcoal gray and the rocks in stone gray. Optional: add a little extra darker brown along the horse's shadowed sides for depth.
