Ribbon Dancers on Stage, Diversity & Inclusion Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Four happy kids leap across a wooden stage, each swinging a long, swirly ribbon on a stick high overhead. The two girls wear short twirly skirts and ballet-style shoes, one with a ponytail and the other with a headband and bangs. Of the two boys, one has tight curly hair and long pants, and the other wears shorts and sneakers, both in T-shirts. Tall curtains with tie-backs frame the sides, and the plank floor stretches out in front. Those big, flowing ribbons are perfect for bold stripes, so a rainbow on each child's ribbon would be fun. The simple outlines work with crayons or markers, and this free printable suits a classroom dance unit, a talent-show theme or a quiet afternoon at home. - 1Start with the stage floor in light orange, using long plank-like strokes, and color the two red curtains on the left and right sides in red.
- 2Color the four ribbons: the top ribbon and the ribbon tail in sky blue, the middle ribbons and the bottom ribbon in bright yellow, the left pink ribbons in hot pink, and the right ribbon in grass green.
- 3Fill in the skin with peach for the girls' faces, arms and legs, and with tan for the boy's face and arms. Color the right boy's curly hair amber and the left girl's hair pale yellow.
- 4Color the clothing: the boy's jeans in sky blue, the left girl's skirt in hot pink, the right girl's skirt in lavender, and the right boy's shorts in grass green.
- 5Leave the shirts, sneakers, eye whites, hair highlights and the background white. Optional: add a little shading on the skin and the stage floor for depth.
