Rope-Braided Peace Sign With Hearts in the Center

Rope-Braided Peace Sign With Hearts in the Center coloring page

Coloring guide

Two hearts, one inside the other, sit in the middle of a round peace sign built from twisting braided rope. The same rope pattern forms the outer circle and the lines of the peace symbol: a straight vertical bar down the center and two slanted arms running from the middle toward the lower left and lower right. The rope weaves over and under the heart outlines where they cross, so the hearts look tied into the design. The large heart is drawn with a thin double line, and the smaller heart sits inside it. The outer ring has a scalloped edge from all the little twists. The wide open spaces inside the hearts and in the sections between the arms are good for patterns. Try one color for the inner heart and a different shade for the big heart, then use two colors on the rope so you can follow each strand as it crosses. Fine-tip markers or colored pencils work well for the narrow braids.
