Ruffled Head of Lettuce Leaves Coloring Sheet

A single head of lettuce is drawn in bold black outlines, with wavy leaves wrapped around each other like the petals of a rose. The small center leaves are tightly curled, and larger leaves open outward around them. One wide leaf crosses the front, and a few rounded leaves sit at the bottom and sides. The word LETTUCE is written in thick outlined block letters beneath the picture. The leaf shapes are big and the lines are easy to follow, so younger kids can color without much trouble. Try light green for the inner leaves and a deeper green for the outer ones, so the layers stand out. It also works well for a lesson on healthy foods, since you can talk about where lettuce grows and how it ends up in salads and sandwiches.
