Santa Waving with a Lumpy Toy Sack, Letter S

Santa stands in the middle of the page with one mittened hand raised in a wave and a lumpy sack held in the other. He wears a fur-trimmed hat with a pom-pom on the tip, a big curly beard and mustache, a wide belt with a square buckle, and tall boots with fur cuffs at the top. In the upper left corner, an outlined capital S and lowercase s sit above the word Santa near the bottom, so kids can connect the letter to the picture. The outlined letters are roomy enough for patterns or stripes. Try coloring the S and s in the same shade as Santa's suit, then say the /s/ sound out loud together and brainstorm other words that start with S. The fur trim and beard have plenty of texture for white crayon or pencil work. This page is printable and works well for letter practice.
