Single Ear of Corn with Leafy Husks

Single Ear of Corn with Leafy Husks coloring page

Coloring guide

A single ear of corn tilts diagonally across the page, with rows of plump, rounded kernels packed tightly down its length. Several long, pointed husk leaves peel away from the cob, some curling outward at the tips and others folded around the base. Light hatch lines on the husks show their texture and creases. At the bottom, a short stem ends in a flat cut end, and a thin curled leaf sweeps up on the left side. The bold outlines and fairly large kernels make this easy for younger kids to color inside the lines. Try yellow and orange shades on the kernels, then pick a few greens for the husks. It also works well for a harvest or garden lesson, since children can count the kernel rows while they color. You can print it free as many times as you need.
