Bamboo Forest Tiger Sitting Among Rocks
Coloring guide
Sitting upright and facing forward with its head tilted a bit, this young tiger has big round eyes and a calm, curious look. Bold curved stripes cover the chest and legs, and the thick fur around the cheeks makes lots of small spaces for careful coloring. Tall bamboo stalks fill the page behind, with pointed leaves spreading out on both sides. Near the paws you'll find a few rounded rocks and grassy tufts, and the striped tail curls around on the right. Big stripe areas mixed with finer leaf details suit kids who like to take their time. Orange for the fur and fresh greens for the bamboo make a good pairing. Free to print for a quiet afternoon at home or in the classroom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the tiger's body, head, legs and paws in golden orange, leaving the chest, cheeks, muzzle and paw tips in cream white.
- 2Color the tiger's stripes on the head, back, sides and tail in golden orange, keeping the eye highlights white.
- 3Fill the bamboo stalks and leaves with lime green and pale yellow green, using a darker grass green on a few stalks for depth.
- 4Color the rocks and the ground in light gray, with a few sandy tan pebbles at the bottom.
- 5Finish the tail tip with dark brown and add the small dark accents on the rocks last.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading on the rocks and the tiger's belly with light gray to make the scene feel more rounded.
