A happy young reindeer faces forward with a big open-mouth smile, large sparkly eyes and a round nose. It has two tall antlers, fluffy tufts of fur on its head and chest, and a little fluffy tail. A layered evergreen tree stands behind it on the right, and snowy hills roll along the bottom. Six detailed snowflakes, each different, hang in the winter sky with plenty of small round snow dots. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the reindeer's head, body, legs and tail with warm brown, leaving the lighter chest, muzzle and tail tips for later.
- 2Color the top of the head and the ear bases in golden tan, then add pale tan to the chest fur, muzzle, chin and tail tip.
- 3Paint both antlers and the base of the ears in chestnut brown, and fill the inside of the ears with soft pink.
- 4Color the hooves dark brown and the nose bright red, keeping the eye shines and the small teeth white.
- 5Color the bottom of the tree and its lower branches forest green, the trunk chestnut brown, and add sky blue to the shadows between the legs, leaving the snowy branches and ground white.
- 6Optional: add a few slightly darker brown strokes along the legs and body for a bit of shading.
