Honey Pot Hug for a Bear Cub and Three Bees

Coloring guide
Sitting on the grass, a happy cub holds a big honey pot snugly in both paws while thick honey drips over the rim and down the front of the jar. It has a wide open-mouth smile, round ears, shiny eyes and a fluffy tuft of fur on its head. The big foot pads, each with toe beans, face outward at the bottom of the page. Three little striped bees with smiling faces buzz around, each trailing a dashed flight path, and a few grass tufts sit near the bear's feet. Large shapes and bold lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids who are still building pencil and crayon control. Golden yellow for the honey and bee stripes goes well with a warm brown bear. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bear's head, arms, body and feet in caramel brown, leaving the muzzle and foot soles unfilled for now.
- 2Color the honey pot's middle band and base in lemon yellow, and the top band and rim in amber orange, so the pot stands out.
- 3Fill the bee wings in light blue and the bee bodies and stripes in golden yellow, keeping the antenna tips and the dashed trails white.
- 4Color the muzzle and the foot soles in cream beige, then add rose pink to the toe pads and soft pink to the inner ears and tongue.
- 5Add the honey dripping over the pot rim and the single honey drop in lemon yellow, leaving the eye shine spots white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of amber orange along the edges of the pot and bear's body for a little extra depth.
