Autumn Walk with a Bear and a Squirrel

Coloring guide
A friendly, fluffy bear wanders toward us over a leafy forest floor while a curious squirrel peeks down from a thick oak branch overhead. Leaves tumble through the air, and the ground holds fallen leaves, acorns, ferns and a few spotted mushrooms in the corners. Farther back are tall tree trunks, a pine, distant forested hills and a little stream. The shaggy fur gives kids many small tufts to color, and the large leaves leave roomy spaces for beginners. Golden browns for the bear, reds, oranges and yellows for the leaves, and bright red mushroom caps would suit it. Free to print for a quiet afternoon or a fall classroom activity. Add this to your Bear coloring page collection, alongside Shark and Giraffe.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big bear body, legs and head with warm brown, leaving the lighter fur strokes simple.
- 2Color the sky and the stream water with light blue, and the distant hills with sky blue.
- 3Color the tree trunks and branches warm brown, and the dark bark spots with dark olive.
- 4Fill the bushes, grass and most leaves with lime green, leaf green and bright green, then add golden yellow and amber yellow to the fallen leaves.
- 5Color the squirrel orange, the bear ear and face areas peach, the acorns acorn brown, and the mushroom caps tomato red or coral pink with stems in cream.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of forest green in the pines and bushes for depth, and leave the white highlights and the bear's eye and teeth areas untouched.
