Bee Towing a Honey Jar Wagon

Coloring guide
A cheerful bee with big sparkly eyes and curly antennae flies through the air, pulling a rope tied around its neck fluff. The rope leads to a small wooden wagon with four wheels, loaded with four honey jars topped with cloth covers and tied with little bows. Below, a winding path cuts through a grassy meadow dotted with grass tufts and three simple flowers with round centers. The bee has two large leaf-shaped wings with vein lines and a striped belly, so there's plenty of room for kids to practice staying inside the lines. Golden yellow for the honey jars and stripes, soft blue wings, and pink or purple flowers would all look good. Grab this free printable PDF for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the two big wings sky blue, leaving the thin vein lines unpainted.
- 2Fill the bee's head, legs, antennae tips and the lighter body stripes with golden yellow, then paint the other body stripes dark brown.
- 3Paint the wagon planks and posts wood brown, and color the bee's arms chocolate brown.
- 4Fill the honey jars with amber, their lids and bows with cream, and the rope knot with light caramel.
- 5Color the wagon wheels charcoal gray with golden yellow centers, and make one hub bright red. Color the grass grass green but leave the flowers white.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade of the same color along one side of each wing and jar for a bit of depth, and leave the eyes white with a small highlight.
