Beekeeper Boy and Three Bees by the Hive

Coloring guide
A smiling young beekeeper stands beside a wooden beehive with one gloved hand on top. He wears a wide-brimmed hat with a mesh veil, a zip-up bee suit, gloves and tall boots. Three cheerful bees with striped bodies and round wings buzz around him, each leaving a dashed flight path. The hive is made of stacked boxes with handle slots and has a small landing board at the bottom. Daisy-style flowers and grass tufts fill the lower corners, and a few puffy bushes sit behind. Large, clean outlines keep it simple for little hands. Golden yellow and black suit the bees, and a bright sunny orange or soft blue suit would make the beekeeper stand out from the hive. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the wooden hive boxes and their sides in honey orange, including the hive base and the small stand under the landing board.
- 2Fill the hive roof and lid edges in light gray, then give the boy's face peach skin and his hair chestnut brown.
- 3Color the beekeeper suit, the hat, and the veil in cream white, leaving those areas light so they look like soft fabric.
- 4Paint the gloves and the three bee bodies and stripes in golden yellow, and color the bee wings sky blue.
- 5Fill the boots in forest green with caramel brown soles, then color the grass in grass green and leaf green and the flower petals in bubblegum pink.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the hat brim and along the hive sides to make the drawing feel more three-dimensional.
