Sitting up straight with long ears held high, this bunny wraps both paws around an oversized carrot and pulls it against its tummy. Big sparkling eyes, a tiny nose, whiskers and two little buck teeth make for a sweet, happy face. Behind the bunny, two small carrots with leafy tops stick out of the ground, and a few soil mounds dot the bottom of the page. Thick, clean outlines and large open shapes are friendly for preschoolers and early elementary kids still working on pencil control. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big carrot and both small carrot roots with carrot orange, leaving the thin carrot lines as they are.
- 2Color the carrot's leafy top and the leafy tops of the left plant in lime green, and use bright green for the plant on the right side.
- 3Fill the bunny's body, arms, paws and back leg with warm brown, letting the carrot stay on top.
- 4Color the bunny's tail, lower front foot and cheek blush in cream white, and make the nose soft pink.
- 5Keep the eye whites, teeth and background white, then add the eye pupils in dark tones if you like.
- 6Optional: add light shading with a darker shade of brown on the bunny and a slightly darker orange on the carrot for depth.
