Smiling Butterfly and Snail in a Spring Garden
Coloring guide
A cheerful butterfly with big eyes and curled antennae flies above a small garden, while a snail with a spiral shell rests on a large leaf below and smiles up at it. The butterfly's wings have round circles and curved sections that make nice spots for patterns. Around them are tulip buds, a tall curling vine with small five-petal flowers, a large open blossom with long stamens, daisy-like flowers, and grassy blades on both sides. A fern-style plant stands on the right. In the sky, a sun with pointed rays peeks over a swirly cloud, and a smaller cloud sits nearby. Try coloring the butterfly's wings in two or three shades, then ask kids to pick matching colors for the flowers. The free printable also works well for talking about what insects and snails like to do in spring, and the big shapes are easy for small hands.
