On top of a huge spotted mushroom cap in a forest, a cheerful butterfly stands with big round eyes, curled antennae and a little smile. Circles, ovals and petal-shaped sections fill its large wings, so there's lots to color. Under the cap, the gills are drawn as thin lines, and the thick stem has a scalloped collar. Tall tree trunks with a few small leaves rise behind it. In front you'll see feathery ferns and tufts of grass, plus three smaller spotted mushrooms tucked into the bottom corners. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big mushroom cap cherry red, and leave the round white spots on top untouched.
- 2Fill the butterfly's wings with sky blue on the inner sections and orange on the middle bands, then add royal blue along the outer edges and dots.
- 3Color the butterfly's head bright yellow and its body golden yellow, leaving the two eyes white with a small shine.
- 4Paint the mushroom stems and the gills under the cap in cream white and beige, and color the small mushrooms the same way with cherry red caps.
- 5Add leaf green ferns, grass green leaves, and a few pale green fronds, then color the tree trunks bark brown and the roots olive brown.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading along the bottom of the mushroom cap and the stems for depth.
