Sitting upright on an oval rug, this happy kitten has a big ball of yarn by its front paws, with a loose strand trailing across the rug. It has large sparkling eyes, a little smiling mouth, whiskers on both cheeks, pointed ears with inner details and a long curved tail raised behind. Each section carries a small number: 1 on the body, 2 on the ears and tail, 3 on the yarn ball and 4 on the rug. It's an easy way for kids to learn matching numbers to colors. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the kitten: fill the head, body, tail, and both back legs with tangerine orange, leaving the eye whites and background white.
- 2Color the inner ears, nose, and tongue with coral pink to make the face pop.
- 3Fill the outer rim of the rug with bright blue, then color the middle of the rug with pale yellow.
- 4Color the yarn ball and the loose yarn string with bright blue, then add light blue on the top part of the ball.
- 5Keep the eye whites, the space around the whiskers, and the background white so the face stays bright.
- 6Optional: add a few lighter lines of orange on the kitten and darker blue lines on the yarn for a little extra texture.
