Smiling Number 5 With Five Happy Apples

A big bubble-style number 5 sits at the top of the page with a cheerful face, including wide round eyes, raised eyebrows and an open smiling mouth. Below it, five little apples are lined up in two rows, three on top and two underneath. Each apple has a stem, a single leaf, big shiny eyes and a small smile. The thick, clean outlines make the shapes easy for small hands to color inside. This page works well for counting practice: have your child point to each apple and count out loud, then color the number 5 in one shade and all five apples in another so the match is obvious. You can also print a free copy for a math center and let kids try red, green and yellow apples to talk about different apple colors.
