A big, rounded number 1 takes up the whole page, with a happy cartoon face near the top. It has two large round eyes with shiny white highlights, small curved eyebrows, an open smiling mouth, and two oval cheeks on either side. A small outlined star floats just to the right of the top of the number. The base of the 1 is a wide, flat, rounded foot, and the thick outlines leave lots of open space that is easy for small hands to fill in. This free printable works well for toddlers and preschoolers learning to recognize the numeral one. Try coloring the number in one bold color, then point out that there is just one star and one smiling face on the page. Crayons or chunky markers both work nicely here.
