Busy Underwater Scene With Octopus, Seahorses and Jellyfish

Right in the middle of a busy sea scene sits a friendly octopus with big shiny eyes and a happy smile, its eight curly arms spread wide and dotted with little suckers. Spots decorate its round head. Three jellyfish with long wavy tentacles drift above among the bubbles, two seahorses face the center from either side, and small schools of fish swim across the top. Tall seaweed, coral and sponge tubes fill the sides, and two tiny seashell houses with round windows and arched doors sit on the left and right. Near the bottom you'll spot an open clam holding a pearl, along with assorted shells and starfish on the sandy floor. Large shapes suit little hands, and the small details keep older kids busy. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the octopus head, body and all eight arms with orange, leaving the white highlight dots and eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the spots on the head and the little dots along the tentacles with golden yellow for a playful pattern.
- 3Color the sandy seabed, the lower sand mounds and the open patches of ground with butter yellow.
- 4Add sky blue to the tube sponges and light gray to the rock houses and shell roofs, then give the seaweed and seahorses their greens.
- 5Color the clam shell and the bottom shell with light pink and lavender, and leave the pearl white so it shines.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the arms with a slightly darker orange to make the octopus look rounder.
