Cheerful Pineapple With Hibiscus, Hawaiian Fruit Page

Coloring guide
Right in the center sits a happy pineapple with big sparkly eyes, rosy eyebrows and an open smile. A diamond crisscross pattern covers its body, and a tall crown of pointed leaves fans out on top. Three hibiscus flowers with long stamens tuck in front of the fruit at the bottom, with large veined leaves on both sides. Thick, clean outlines and roomy shapes help preschoolers and early elementary kids who are still building crayon and marker control, and the diamonds are satisfying to fill in one by one. Golden yellow and orange for the body, bright green for the crown and pink or red petals for the hibiscus would look lovely. Print it at home and keep a few spares. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- golden yellow
- dark green
- light green
- soft pink
- tomato red
- rose pink
- salmon red
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pineapple body: color all the diamond-shaped sections of the fruit in golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the smile's inner part for later.
- 2Fill the crown of leaves on top: color the tall center leaves and side leaves in light green, then use dark green for the leaves at the outer edges and the bottom crown leaves.
- 3Color the three big hibiscus flowers: use soft pink for the left and right flowers and tomato red for the middle flower, leaving the little centers and stamens uncolored.
- 4Color the large leaves behind the flowers in dark green, then fill the mouth with a rose pink tongue and salmon red at the top of the smile.
- 5Keep the two eye whites white, then draw the black pupils and details if you like.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of a darker shade near the edges of the pineapple and petals to make them look more rounded.
