Rainy Cloud and Puddle Meadow Under a Rainbow
Coloring guide
A little cloud with a smiling face drops raindrops over a big striped rainbow. The rainbow arches across the page with bushes tucked in at both ends. Underneath, a grassy hill slopes down to a wide puddle, and the ripples repeat the curved bands of the rainbow. Daisy-style flowers with long leaves sit in the bottom corners, and small tufts of grass dot the meadow. The bands are wide enough for little hands, so this free printable suits preschoolers and early elementary kids. Fill the rainbow with red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, then copy those colors into the puddle to make a reflection. Pale gray-blue for the cloud and raindrops is a nice last touch. - sky blue
- grass green
- bright red
- orange
- golden yellow
- lavender purple
- forest green
- lime green
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: color the outermost band bright red, then the next band orange, yellow, grass green, sky blue, and lavender purple, working inward. Leave the space inside the arch white.
- 2Color the puddle in the middle of the meadow with sky blue, leaving the thin ripple lines as white gaps. Fill the two small puddles at the bottom with the same sky blue.
- 3Fill the two bushes at the ends of the rainbow and the bush on the right side with forest green, and the bush on the left with grass green.
- 4Color the flower centers golden yellow, leaving the petals white. Add a few lime green stems and grass tufts at the bottom corners.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker shading along the edges of the puddle or the bottom of the rainbow bands for a bit of depth. Keep the cloud and raindrops white.
