Coloring guide
Through the round porthole of a tilted rocket ship, a happy little character peeks out with a smile that's hard not to return. The rocket has a pointed nose cone, two swooping side fins and a flame trail underneath, and each section carries a small number. Floating around it are a ringed planet divided into numbered bands, a cratered moon in the lower corner, and five stars scattered across the sky, each with its own number. It suits early readers who are practicing numbers and learning to stay inside the lines. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the upper rocket body light gray and the lower rocket body center sky blue.
- 2Fill the side fins and the outer flame shapes with red, leaving the rocket body and nose tip ready for details.
- 3Color the nose cone tip, nose band, and lower body band red or orange as shown, then add royal blue to the engine base.
- 4Color the planet body and ring with purple and yellow, leaving the small white highlight on the ring edge unpainted.
- 5Fill the porthole ring, the three stars, and the inner flame with yellow, then color the porthole glass pale cyan around the smiling face.
- 6Finish with slate gray for the moon craters and leave the eye whites and face highlights white. Optional: add a light lilac touch to the moon for depth.
