Next to an open treasure chest in an underwater scene, a friendly seahorse with big round eyes and a curved smile floats upright. The chest is packed with sparkling diamonds, round gems and strings of beads, and a long pearl necklace drapes over the front near the keyhole lock. The seahorse has a ridged crest on its head, two fan-shaped fins, a striped belly and a tail curled into a spiral. Tall wavy seaweed grows on both sides, small bubbles drift upward, and a starfish and a few rocks rest on the sandy seafloor. The lines are bold and clean, which works nicely for crayons and markers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the seahorse body and head in lemon yellow, leaving the big round eye white and the little shine dot unpainted.
- 2Color the crest fins and the body stripes in coral orange and orange, and fill the tail fin in orange too.
- 3Fill the treasure chest's wooden lid and front in chocolate brown, then add golden yellow to the metal bands, corners, and keyhole.
- 4Paint the seaweed in light green and dark green, and the starfish in coral orange, leaving a few small white dots on the starfish.
- 5Add the gems in bright blue, red, purple, and green, and fill the pearls and coins with cream and golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Finish with cool gray rocks and pale blue bubbles, and add a darker brown shadow inside the chest for depth.
