This cartoon zebra stands facing slightly sideways, its head turned toward you with big round eyes and a cheerful smile. A small bird perches on its back just behind the neck and looks up at the zebra's face. The zebra has a spiky upright mane, rounded ears, a tufted tail and bold curved stripes over its body and legs. The savanna behind it includes a flat-topped acacia tree on a gentle hill, a few rounded bushes, tufts of grass and small rocks up front. Thick outlines and large open spaces make this free printable easy for younger kids, and the stripes give older ones something to work carefully on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bird's body and tail with bright blue, leaving its beak and wing edges white.
- 2Fill the hill, the acacia tree top and the grass with grass green, then color the bushes on both sides with leaf green.
- 3Paint the inside of both ears light pink and the nose and rocks light gray.
- 4Color the zebra's hooves, the tail tuft and the dark stripes on the mane and body with charcoal, keeping the face, eyes, belly and back white.
- 5Color the tree trunk brown and the dark stripes on the mane and body with dark gray.
- 6Optional: add a touch of yellow green to one leg and the base of the tail for a lively shadow.
