Snowball Fight Between Two Kids on a Winter Day
Coloring guide
A boy and a girl are squaring off in a snowball fight, with one snowball frozen in mid-air between them. The boy leans forward with an arm still stretched out from his throw. He has on a striped knit hat with a pom-pom, a long scarf, a zip jacket, mittens and boots. The girl wears pigtails and a zigzag pom-pom hat, plus a buttoned coat and scarf, and she holds her snowball up by her shoulder, ready to go. A smiling snowman with a scarf, beanie, stick arms and coal buttons watches from a gentle hill behind them. Two bare trees, a few low bushes and little snow mounds fill out the scene. There are big open spaces for young colorers on this free printable. Red for his hat and purple for her pom-pom hat would stand out nicely, and the snow can stay white or get a touch of pale blue. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the boy's jacket and hat sky blue, and the girl's coat soft pink with her hat hot pink.
- 2Fill the boy's pants and mittens dark blue, and the girl's leggings purple.
- 3Color the bushes and distant cloud shapes pale blue, the tree trunks and boots medium brown, and keep the snow, sky and snowballs white.
- 4Use red for the snowman's scarf and hat stripes and the girl's scarf and mittens, and bright yellow for the boy's scarf and hat pom-pom.
- 5Add peach to the faces and hands, dark brown for the boy's hair and light brown for the girl's hair, leaving the eye whites and the snowman's body white.
- 6Optional: add a little steel blue shading under the boy's jacket hem and a light pink tone on the girl's coat pocket for depth.
