Squirrel on a Branch Nibbling a Cookie

Coloring guide
A smiling squirrel sits upright on a thick tree branch, holding a round cookie in both front paws. There's a small bite out of the cookie's edge, and it's dotted with chocolate chips, so you can tell the snack is underway. The squirrel has big sparkling eyes, tufted pointed ears, a little round nose and a fluffy curled tail sweeping up behind its back. Its feet rest on the branch in front. Three oak leaves round out the scene, one in the top left corner, one at the lower left by the branch and one at the lower right where the branch ends. Big shapes and bold lines make it friendly for younger kids and crayons. Warm reddish-brown works for the squirrel and tail, with a golden tan cookie and dark brown chips. It's a free printable that fits a quiet autumn activity at home or in class. This fits right in with our Cookie coloring pages — see also Baby and Hot Dog.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- squirrel orange
- bark brown
- cream beige
- leaf green
- soft pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the squirrel's head, body, tail, ears and paws in squirrel orange, leaving the eye shine and the front teeth white.
- 2Fill the inside of the two ears with soft pink for a cute, cozy touch.
- 3Color the squirrel's belly and the cookie cream beige, keeping the cookie bite and the small highlights bright.
- 4Paint the oak leaves in leaf green and the tree branch in bark brown, leaving a few light spots on the leaves.
- 5Optional: add a slightly darker orange along the tail and under the squirrel's body to give it a little depth.
